Description
The Ex-Asilo of Camella has been sitting here in the heart of the community for years. The local council gave us the keys back in December and, since then, we’ve had plenty of ideas for the space but we’ve never really found the time to get started.
So rather than keep talking about what it could become, we’re finally getting stuck in.
On October 24th, we’ll come together for an afternoon of cleaning, painting, fixing, moving things around and working outside, taking the first steps towards making the space a little more alive, a little more ours and, most importantly, a little more useful to the community.
The afternoon is part of Restare per Crescere, our European Solidarity Corps project. Our six volunteers chose the Ex-Asilo for an eco-volunteering action because they saw a space with a lot of potential and one that could actually become a useful place for the local community.
What will we do?
We’ll be getting stuck into a mix of practical and creative activities, including:
– Painting and decorating
– Cleaning and recovering the space
– Small repairs and improvements
– Moving and rearranging things
– Planting and taking care of the outdoor areas
– Making the space more welcoming
– Sharing ideas about what the space could become
You don’t need any particular skills or experience to take part. Bring yourself, your hands and your ideas. There will be different ways to get involved, whether you want to get stuck into the practical work, help with the creative side or simply share your ideas.
Food & refreshments
We’ll finish the afternoon by spending some time together over a simple snack of fresh local bread and olive oil.
The olive oil is being provided by Oleificio Serra Marina.
When you register, please let us know about any dietary requirements or other information we should know so we can organise everything properly.
Want to join us?
The afternoon is free and open to everyone.
To take part, simply complete the registration form below. This helps us know who’s coming and prepare the materials, activities and refreshments.
